Curator-led tour of the exhibition "Suzanne Treister: Prophetic Dreaming"

At 1:00 PM, we will meet with Gabriela Sitek, curator of the exhibition from the Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź. During the guided tour, Gabriela Sitek will introduce the concept of the exhibition and discuss key aspects of the work of Suzanne Treister, a pioneer of digital, internet and new media art. She will talk about the works presented in the exhibition, their contexts, and the ways in which, for over four decades, the artist has used art to explore the relationships between technology, society, power, science and alternative systems of belief.

The tour will offer an opportunity to look closely at both Treister’s early projects, such as Video Games Paintings (1989–1991) and Software (1993–1994), and her most recent works, including the HEXEN 5.0 tarot deck (2023–2025). Particular attention will be given to the ways in which Treister combines an analysis of the present with the imagining of possible future scenarios.

The tour will provide an opportunity to experience the exhibition from a curatorial perspective and to gain a deeper understanding of Suzanne Treister’s multifaceted practice, characterised by unexpected connections
